About Oliver Oike

A graduate of the Communication Design Degree program at the Emily Carr University (2000) in Vancouver BC, Oliver is currently the Creative Director at Manlab in Winnipeg.

Upon graduation from ECI, Oliver started his career at Praxis Corporate Communication Design in Vancouver working on a number of web, annual report and identity projects.

After two years at Praxis, he joined the team at Tribal DDB (the interactive arm of DDB Canada) as an Art Director working for a range of clients that included the Canadian Tourism Commission, Unilever, Clorox, Telus, Sun Rype and the Bank of Montreal.

In his role at Manlab, Oliver helps lead the conceptual development & design of the studio’s projects, maintains close relationships with clients, and is involved in mentoring programs with several Manitoba secondary and post-secondary design programs.

For the last four years Oliver has enjoyed his role as the Vice-President of the Manitoba Chapter of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (gdc.net), and looks forward to serving for the next two years as President (2009-2010).
