60 of the World’s Greatest Places (They forgot Winnipeg?!)

August 3rd, 2006 · No Comments

The PPS (Project for Public Spaces) website has recently posted a list of 60 great places around the world – a shocker that Winnipeg was left off! It’s one of those lists you get to hear gushy travel-show hosts spill on about: “you *have* to go in the fall, and sit in the cafe on the corner by the… blah blah blah…”

Well, there does seems to be some great information in there, despite my current situation’s inflexibility to move about the globe sucking up all the amazing culture that exists out there. That being said, it’s not all *so* bad close to home, given that we’ve had an amazing summer with no bugs and 17 out of 31 days in July were above 30C.

And the “inflexibility” I mention above takes shape in two of the most amazing, beautiful, little girls any dad could ask for. I’d gladly take them over Country Club Plaza in Missouri any day. And there’s Winnipeg to celebrate too. In a recent interview, local band The Weakerthans, have wrapped up a pretty interesting list of must-see things to do, see and eat in Winnipeg. It’s the cover article of the latest edition of WestJet’s Up! in-flight magazine.
