Philips’ focus on design & simplicity in its branding efforts is highly visible on their site. They have a large area devoted to talking about their “Sense and Simplicity” brand promise, including the announcement of their formation of a “Simplicity Advisory Board,” made up of professionals from around the world, including my hero John Maeda.

Back in Canada, The Society of Graphic Designers of Canada, of which I’m a member (Vice-Chair, Manitoba Chapter) recently announced the August availability of a 50th Anniversary Commemorative stamp, produced by Canada Post. The GDC announcement can be found here.F

And finally, on the nightstand, I’m currently reading “Jpod,” by Douglas Coupland (enjoyable!) and the current issue of Esquire (that has in interesting article).
