“Do not covet your ideas. Give away everything you know, and more will come back to you.”

If there’s an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other, this is an angel. A short, easy read, but full of good reminders of how to do things the right way. Paul Arden is a seasoned Saatchi & Saatchi vet, and shares his wisdom with a confident, funny, inspiring delivery. A great book to have around for reference, especially at the outset of a new project.

More:
“Do not seek praise. Seek criticism.”
“Don’t look for the next opportunity. The one you have in hand is the opportunity.”
“Do not put your cleverness in front of the communication.”
“What do you do when your client won’t ‘buy’? Do it his way. Then do it your way.”
“When it can’t be done, do it. If you don’t do it, it doesn’t exist.”
“Don’t give a speech. Put on a show.”
“Doing a layout means having an idea.”
“If you get stuck, draw with a different pen.”

And many more…

That book has changed my thinking more than almost any other book I’ve read. It’s a great read.
