I feel like I’m watching an animated David Carson layout from 1996. And that’s not a bad thing, because Michael Stipe is great. We saw R.E.M. play in Vancouver in 1995 (with Sonic Youth) and then I had a chance to chat with him at my grad show in 2000.

I had the opportunity to see Stefan Sagmeister speak in Toronto in 2006. In person, he seems humble and grounded in ideas. His personality shows well in this short from Hillman Curtis.
